The Transjurassienne is evolving: a new chapter begins in 2027
A legendary event in French cross-country skiing, La Transjurassienne has always evolved alongside its region. Faced with the effects of climate change and snow conditions that have become more unpredictable over the years, we have decided to adapt the race to ensure its future.
👉 Starting in 2027, La Transjurassienne will adopt a 50-km standard course between Lamoura and Les Rousses.
Through this evolution, our goal is clear: to continue bringing La Transjurassienne to life in the heart of the Jura Mountains while offering you greater visibility from the moment you register.
11 years of adaptation
For several years now, we have had to deal with significant changes in global warming and uncertain snow conditions in the Jura Mountains.
The last 11 editions are proof of this: since 2016, the historic route between Lamoura and Mouthe hasonly been run in its entiretyonce, in 2019.
Between 2016 and 2026, over 11 editions:
- Only one person took the historic Lamoura–Mouthe route;
- 6 were held on specially adapted courses;
- Four were canceled, including the 2021 edition due to COVID.
Over the years, we have adjusted the distances, changed the start and finish locations, and devised contingency plans so that we could continue to offer you La Transjurassienne whenever possible.
Today, this realization leads us to take the next step.
Evolving La Transjurassienne to Preserve It
Starting in 2027, La Transjurassienne will feature a 50-km flagship route between Lamoura and Les Rousses, in the heart of the Haut-Jura.
This decision will allow us to focus the event on an area that offers better snow conditions, as well as to reinforce the most vulnerable sections and prepare the trails under the best possible conditions. This change is designed to ensure the quality of your experience while preserving what defines the Transju’ spirit: the landscapes of the Jura Mountains, the athletic challenge, the dedication of our volunteers, the atmosphere on the slopes, and this shared human adventure that brings together thousands of enthusiasts every winter.
It also reflects a strong commitment on our part: to give you greater visibility as soon as you sign up.
This way, you’ll know several months before the event what challenge lies ahead and can prepare for your Transjurassienne and your stay in the Jura Mountains under the best possible conditions.
The distance is changing. The Transju’ spirit lives on.
A registration that includes much more than just a race bib
In addition to your race bib, your registration includes all the services provided to ensure you have the best possible experience at the Transjurassienne, from start to finish:

Greater peace of mind in the event of a cancellation
We also know that registering for La Transjurassienne means much more than just a race bib. It involves months of preparation, as well as planning your trip and, for many of you,a stay in the Jura Mountains.
That is why we also want to provide you with additional assurances.
In the event of a cancellation:
- Reimbursement of up to 90% of the base rate (corresponding to the first rate)
or - Postponement of your registration to the following year, in accordance with the terms set forth in the regulations.
Adapting to Keep Making History
Evolving La Transjurassienne means preserving what has been its strength for decades: a sporting and human adventure deeply rooted in the Jura Mountains.
The climate is changing, and we must adapt to this new reality. But what defines La Transjurassienne remains the same: the Jura Mountains, cross-country skiing, pushing one’s limits, our volunteers, the atmosphere on the trails, and the shared emotions.
In 2027, a new chapter begins.
